In times of rapid information dissemination, belief in conspiracy theories is on the rise. 'Tinfoil hat wearers’ reject official information and believe in extreme, unfounded explanations. Even before 1933, advertising columns were used to spread political ideas; the Nazis turned them into a propaganda tool. Today, disinformation and conspiracy theories spread faster through social media and fuel hatred. They endanger democracy and cohesion. Critical thinking is important, but one should stick to facts and science and not believe everything that circulates on the internet.
