“Everything moves, there is no such thing as standing still,” claims the artist Jean Tinguely in his 1959 manifesto For Statics. This statement is an invitation to embrace the course of things and keep up with the movement of the cosmos. Our lives are increasingly characterized by speed due to the influence of media and technology. For designers, this means reacting to these developments and incorporating them into their design processes. How important is it to reside in the moment in order to become aware of the details and circumstances as designers, to scrutinize them, and to actively help shape and reshape them? How do we set and influence parameters to create an exciting moment? What role is played by spatial disturbance, the feeling of experiencing time, or the immersion in other perspectives?
