Disinformation and false statements have become a large part of public discourse and are believed by many people at face value. Compared to other parties, the AfD has the largest share of voters who obtain their information mainly from social media. However, obtaining information from a single source leads to greater susceptibility to misinformation and extreme positions. Many of the AfD's demands do not serve to solve problems in the long term, but aim to appeal to as many voters as possible on an emotional level and to assign blame to a social minority. Precisely because of the current abundance of information and political opinions, it is important to regularly inform oneself through various sources and to form one's own fact-based opinion.
