Cinema figura examines feature films for typical attributes such as colorfulness or volume, collects this data, and transfers it simultaneously into a color collage. Over the entire duration of the film, the viewer follows how the film is transformed into an abstract poster whose color world becomes astonishingly similar to that of the original poster. The dissolving subtitles allow dialogue to be guessed at, but never fully grasped. And finally, even individual film scenes are recognizable in the abstract color composition.
