The Book of Changes is the oldest and—in its translation by Richard Wilhelm—best-known Chinese book in the world. It consists of 64 hexagrams that form a closed philosophical system and provide an intuitive and poetic approach to understanding the world. The work has inspired the likes of Hermann Hesse, Bob Dylan, and John Cage, who used it for his compositions, texts, and graphic works. The Book of Changes is presented here in a new graphic concept that is committed to both the system and the myth of the work.
