Male Art & Design Hamburg is a protest action that highlights and denounces the imbalance in the collection of Hamburg’s design museum, the MK&G. With its collection of speculative websites and digital activist artifacts, the project aims to shine a light on the dark corners of major art and design institutions. In this digital parallel world, the countdown unbureaucratically relieves the collection of half of its works, demands and questions are posed with a Mike Meiré-style arrogance, while valuable works cannot be restored and are forgotten as ‘broken images’ in an infinite scroll.
