An artistic investigation of recurring processes in drawing: once set in motion, the central theme becomes the artist’s own process of experiencing recurring drawing processes, resulting in the creation of a work of art that is somewhat incidental, without working toward a specific end product. Various questions accompany the process: Can restricting oneself to rules open up a space for experimentation? Can something new emerge from uniformity? How long is a minute? What does the clock measure? In the alternation between the conscious and the unconscious, the artist’s hand takes on a life of its own; the transition from one present moment to the next is automatic. The artist moves between concentration and detached control, between counting and miscounting. Speeds shift, regular movements measure irregular ones, rhythm is lost and then found again.
