Despite its various, sometimes contradictory meanings and media functions, the mass-produced cell phone photo is more ephemeral than any image before it—or perhaps not? Natalie examined the meaning of her cell phone photo collection: to what extent can seemingly incidental snapshots be generalized? Is there a visual structure to everyday life? Photos were compiled in three brochures, and specific editorial and design decisions were assigned to a script. In this way, the photos lose their previous context, and a new aesthetic dimension changes the view of seemingly worthless images.
